The BioarterialPlus Arterial Blood Flow Enhancement System is intended as an adjunct therapy for patients with arterial disease of the lower extremities resulting in one or more of the following:
- Ulcers
- Intermittent Claudication
- Ischemia (Lack of oxygen to a specific area)
- Graft Failure
- Arteriopathic Wounds
- Angioplasty/ Stent Failure
- Minor Amputations
- Rest Pain, Night Pain
- Small Vessel Disease

Application: The application of intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) to the lower limb to increase arterial inflow in those with Peripheral Artery Disease (as many as 8-12 million Americans)
SEVERE PAD CAN LEAD TO:
- Foot pain that won’t go away with rest
- Foot and toe wounds that won’t heal
- Gangrene
- Decreased temperature of lower leg or foot
- Leg amputation
Treatment: Symptoms of PAD can be decreased and controlled by using a compression pump. Those who have used the pump have demonstrated the following:
- Increased ability to walk distances
- Less claudication
- Improved resting and post exercise ABI
- Improved Quality of Life
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Improved Quality Of Life
Pneumatic compression is contraindicated for the patients with:
- Infected Limbs
- Suspected Deep Vein Thrombosis or arterial clots
- Episodes of inflammatory phlebitis or pulmonary embolism
- Undesirable venous and lymphatic return (as with congestive heart failure).
